The upcoming indie biopic, titled The Chop, is being written and produced by filmmaker, writer, and stand-up comedian Mike Young through Red Leaf Entertainment. Production is targeted for 2027, though no director, cast, or financing details have been announced.
According to the film’s synopsis, the story traces Morrow as he connects with a group of gamblers whose high-stakes approach to risk begins attracting serious attention on casino floors across Las Vegas. As their reputation grows, Morrow is pushed further into the spotlight, confronting new pressures involving ambition, family, and fame.

The board is hoping that the proposal drafts or more or less finalised, though there will likely be input from stakeholders during the comment period and at the hearing. One group that typically weighs in on such matters, the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers, did not respond to a request for comment by Friday’s deadline for publication. Depending on the amount of feedback or potential objections from the Nevada Gaming Commission, the new standards could be adopted and published by year’s end.
Overall, it’s been a busy stretch for the board since the start of 2025. In that time the regulator has issued five multimillion-dollar anti-money laundering fines to entities on the Las Vegas Strip, an unprecedented run of sanctions for America’s gambling capital.
Four of the investigations – those involving Resorts World Las Vegas, MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and the Venetian – centred around AML violations related to illegal bookmaker Mathew Bowyer, who was placed on the state’s exclusion list in April. The other case involving Wynn Las Vegas did not pertain to play from Bowyer.

The NFL referenced a comparable incarnation of the platform in a letter this summer to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission on prediction markets. The league was one of several that submitted public comments to the CFTC in regards to the agency’s proposed rules on event contracts.
The comment period opened shortly after several members of a Senate subcommittee alluded to the rise of prediction markets and the subsequent risk of a spike in harassment cases at a May federal sports betting hearing. The hearing, commenced by a US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation subcommittee, was held at the Russell Senate Building during the heart of the NBA and NHL Playoffs.
Cruz, who chairs the Senate Commerce Committee, also co-authored the aforementioned Protect College Sports Act with Washington Senator Maria Cantwell. As cloture motion for floor debate of the act began this week, Cruz has expressed optimism that the bill will be signed into law.
